Placements Branch & Company Ambassador

A simple but important role, requiring little or no prior experience. You will become the eyes, ears and mouth of the placements team, being the point of contact for all communication with your local network.

Role:

  • To actively advertise and communicate messages within your local network, feeding back to the placements team. Biggest time commitment will be in February, when the national placements are advertised.
  • To dynamically answer queries from branch / company members, and be able to identify opportunities for members to set up placements or affiliate with the placements team.
Requirements:
  • You should be a great communicator, who strongly supports the role of volunteering in promoting human development.
  • You must be comfortable with working in isolation from the placements team for long periods of time, communicating by email and telephone
Training:
  • There will be at least two formal training sessions throughout the year, where you can meet up with your counterparts from across the UK, and the rest of the placements team. In this you will play a part in defining your own role, will be briefed about our processes, and learn about the work of our placement volunteers.
Opportunities:
  • This is a great starting point for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the development sector, or getting closer to the work of the EWB-UK placements team. Branch/company ambassadors are by no means excluded from doing a placement themselves.
