The collapse of non- engineered masonry is one of the major causes of death during earthquakes.
Many people are at risk!

The presentation by Dr. Suby Bhattacharya aims to describe the 2007 Mondialogo Engineering award winners project. The winners were a group of undergraduates with a scheme to protect adobe buildings against earthquakes.

Come along and find out:
• About recently developed technology aimed to prevent the collapse of adobe buildings under strong earthquakes.
• A demonstration of a recently developed numerical tool, the, Applied Element Method, in dynamic modelling of the collapse stage.
• See the developments that can be achieved through the efforts of a group of undergraduates.
