Programmes
Engineers Without Borders UK has six programme areas run by teams working across the UK. Each programme works to facilitate human development through engineering, whether in the near-term through our placements and bursaries programmes, or by investing for the long-term, through our education and outreach programmes.
Placements - Voluntary work experience placements for students and young professionals to share their skills with and to learn from partner development organisations in the UK and abroad.
Bursaries - Funding for our member's own projects that contribute to international development and their own learning.
Research - Projects to deepen students' understanding of development issues and increase the technical expertise available to partner organisations.
Training - Courses and events to raise awareness and to develop the skills that are needed for effective work in international development.
Outreach - Activities with schools and young people to raise awareness of engineering in international development and to inspire the next generation of development professionals.
Education - Opportunities to include international development in university engineering education in order to help create a new generation of engineers that can respond to global issues.
